The Bengaluru Pain Report 2026 — 4,120 Physiotherapy Sessions Analysed

The Bengaluru Pain Report 2026 is an anonymised analysis of 4,120 physiotherapy sessions delivered across the city between January 2024 and July 2026 by the Pro Physiotherapy clinical team. This is the first publicly-released dataset combining IT-corridor tech-neck, joint-family geriatric mobility, post-operative TKR recovery and home-visit logistics data at neighbourhood granularity. Journalists, researchers and policy teams may cite freely with attribution. Interviews and the underlying spreadsheet are available on request.

1. Study overview

The dataset covers 60+ Bengaluru neighbourhoods, six condition categories (back / neck / knee / sports / post-op / neurological / posture), 45 age bands (from paediatric to 92 y) and both home-visit and clinic-based delivery. Every session included in the analysis is a completed billable visit with a written progress note and at least one objective outcome measure (Oswestry Disability Index, Visual Analog Scale for pain, or Timed-Up-and-Go).

The three biggest demographic clusters drive the majority of our caseload:

  1. IT professionals (25–45 y) — 41 % of case-load. Dominant: tech-neck, sciatica, frozen shoulder.
  2. Post-operative patients (50+ y) — 26 %. Dominant: post-TKR, post-ACL, post-THR rehab.
  3. Elderly (65+ y) — 18 %. Dominant: knee OA, geriatric mobility, post-stroke, falls recovery.

Yes. All patient-identifiable information (name, phone, exact address) was removed before analysis. Records were aggregated by neighbourhood, age band, gender, condition category, and visit outcome. No individual patient can be re-identified from the published statistics.
